Commercial vs. Family Farms by Sean

Family farms are typically owned and operated by families or individuals. They are often operated by a more personal and hands-on approach to farming, with family members actively involved in the day-to-day operations. These farms are usually smaller in size and focus on many different types of crops or livestock. Family farms may have limited resources and rely heavily on traditional farming practice.

Commercial farms are large-scale operations that are driven by profit and business. Some of these are owned by corporations or investors but many are stilled owned by families who are contracted to grow a crop or livestock for a larger entity. They often specialize in a specific crop or livestock.
